Not only best in the sense that their relationships are whole and honest, but also in the sense that their relationships are with the best people. This is because happiness is not found in following our hearts desires or, as the scriptures put it, the natural man . Friends and family that encourage us to follow after righteousness, influence us in positive ways that eventually will lead to happiness, if we are faithful and patient. Yet, Because people are so dynamic and complex, our relationships are constantly changing and evolving. Sometimes the friends that used to encourage us to do what is right end up leading us down the wrong paths as they choose to give in to temptations and their natural man.
